Growing up

It seems since we have had Hank that Jack has grown up twice as fast. He was kind of forced to in ways I guess to make room for his little brother. He makes me smile every day with his kisses and sweet little voice saying "mommy" a billion times a day. He always looks out for others and makes sure if he wants a cookie he gets one for everyone else also. He says hello and goodbye to everyone in the room when he comes and goes. He hugs, kisses, and holds his little brother and makes sure he always has a toy and blanket and even tries to feed him occasionally, which he doesn't understand why he can't... He is always up to something and forgets nothing. He is learning his colors and knows red, blue, yellow, and green. He loves tractors, cookies, and doing everything by himself- my patience has really been tried here letting him figure things out whether he makes a mess or gets frustrated. He is like a little angel that makes your day even at 3 a.m. when he is standing at the side of my bed with his tractor blanket whispering "cock-a-doodle-doo!"

Jack has pretty much been potty training himself on his terms. I think this is a precursor to what his personality is going to be like. He likes to do things by himself and figure things out. He decided one day that he was going to poop on the potty. He is only 23 months but if he is ready then I'm not complaining one bit! He said he had to poop so I put him on the toilet and he did it! Granny and Pa brought him to Kings and bought him a horse toy. So now every time he goes on the potty he says prize, horse? He really has things figured out.
Jack was forced to grow up into a big boy bed because Hank needed his crib. He was so excited and slept all night without getting out once the first night, he even stayed in it in the morning. Then he figured out he was not caged in and we get a visitor in our room about every night now wanting to sleep with us. If we don't go to bed the same time as him he sneaks downstairs and peeks around the corner and will stay there forever. The other day he had his cowboy hat on and snuck down to watch us. It was too cute to get mad and we laughed our heads off. What a kid!
Jack is really into animals if you didn't already know. He puts these animal hats on and turns into the animal. His new thing is to pretend like he is a dog and crawl around barking. I tell him to roll over, eat dinner and go to bed and he acts like a dog while he does what he is told. He is quite a character
